Dinard is the ideal base for discovering the Emerald Coast and the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Here are the places we recommend, with an approximate travel time from the apartment.

Saint-Malo, the corsair city
10 min by boat · 20 min by car
The walled city, its ramparts, the aquarium and, at low tide, the Grand Bé and Fort National on foot. A must.
Dinan, the medieval town
About 25 min by car
Ramparts, half-timbered houses, the Rue du Jerzual and the port on the Rance. You can also get there by bike along the greenway, or by boat along the Rance depending on the season.
Mont-Saint-Michel
About 1 hr by car
The "Wonder of the West", a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leave early in the morning to avoid the crowds, and check the spring tide dates: watching the sea come in is breathtaking.

Cap Fréhel and Fort La Latte
Under 1 hr by car
Pink sandstone cliffs plunging into the sea, a lighthouse and a castle perched on a rocky spur. A coastal path links the two sites.

Cancale
About 35 min by car
Brittany's most famous oyster port. Oyster tasting facing the bay and a lovely walk to Pointe du Grouin.
The Rance tidal power station
A few minutes by car
Between Dinard and Saint-Malo, the world's first tidal power station generates electricity from the tides. An amazing sight, ideal with curious children.
Events not to miss
- The Dinard Festival of British and Irish Film, every autumn (early October): premieres and a "so British" atmosphere.
- The spring tides of spring and autumn: an impressive natural spectacle all along the coast.
- Dinard's markets, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, all year round.
